In an attempt to popularize quality teaching-learning material, we are planning to organize Jodogyan-Pitara Fairs.

The Jodogyan-Pitara Fairs will be conducted across NCR and make available a collection of carefully selected teaching-learning materials. This will consist of children’s books and activity-based materials in Mathematics and Science. These fairs are a non-profit effort of Jodogyan, Eklavya and some other organizations to help reach these materials to the teacher, children and parent community.

 

About the learning materials

These materials are pedagogically appropriate and grade specific. They have been designed and developed keeping the curricular requirements in mind and thus, act as an effective support in classroom teaching. These materials have proven to be useful in helping children make sense of what they learn, especially because the curriculum linkages have thoughtfully been made part of the material design. Most of these books and activity-based materials are not easily available in the market, and it is our endeavour to reach out in supporting teachers’ efforts in classrooms. These materials also enable in creating a meaningful learning environment at home.

About Children’s Books

These are carefully selected fine titles among Indian children’s books. It is an accepted fact that children can learn meaningfully when there is a connect between their reading experiences and their lived experiences. These are the books that can connect India’s rich and valuable cultural heritage in the form of story books, picture books, folk tales and activity books. These are very moderately priced and well appreciated titles.

 

Books are selected from:  Gandhi Smriti, NCERT, Eklavya, National Book Trust (NBT), Katha, Childrens Book Trust (CBT), Vigyan Prasaar, Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti (BGVS),Tulika, Granth Shilpi, Arvind Kumar and Arundhati (A & A)
